Azim is a very beautiful 12-year-old 14.1/14.2hh Kaimanawa gelding who is looking for a 5* home. He is ultimately suited to a rider wanting a very genuine fun mount to build confidence on, or a smaller adult rider who wants a forever pleasure horse to have adventures on.
Azim has only been in two homes since he was mustered from the wild in 2014 and he has been fantastic for a range of riders from kids through to adults. He is amazing to bring back into work and can happily be left for several weeks and climbed on and taken for a ride. He is good on the farm, bareback, over obstacles, doubling etc. I would consider him very safe and willing and very suitable for a rider still establishing their seat. He is fantastic on his own and in company.
Although Arzu ticks so many boxes, he is still green when it comes to new environments. This is because he was initially in a farm home, and in his second home his owners had trouble floating him so he stayed on the same property for the 6 years he was owned by them. He came to me recently to sort out his floating issues and he has since been loading well on the truck. He ideally needs another six months of confidence building in a truck before preparing him to float, or is ideally suited to a farm home that doesn’t need to transport him often.
In new environments he gets a little unsettled and can sometimes try to leave scary situations but with kind, firm guidance he quickly settles. Because of this I have worked to expose him to lots of new things and he has been amazing! He has been trekking with young kids around our farm, travelling down to the Hastings A&P show where he was ridden around the grounds, done obstacle training and gone x-country training at NEC and in all of these environments he has been incredible.
Farm, pleasure home preferred. This is such a cool pony who will make someone an absolute best friend.
