*Back in work only during school holidays, would love for him to find a new home before I go back and he goes back into very light work. Cappi has been with me as a project, before this he came off the Gisborne hills, got broken in and hacked. Has been ridden on and off, hacked around the farm, good to go through streams etc (alone or in company). Has competed low level flat & gone to a few outings. Forward moving & very sensitive to aids, good paces & is starting to work in frame, Is still young & can be wobbly so needs someone who has experience with young ponies. Is great on the farm, used to dogs, cows, chickens, machinery etc. Can get a bit sweaty on the float but other than that is great (stands still & self loads), good to trim (barefoot never been shod), lunge (listens well to vocal cues) groom/tack up, worm, etc, can be paddocked alone or in company. No kick, rear, bolt, likes to hold things & be lippy but never in a nasty way. Can be cold backed when coming into work/in light work (has never properly bucked under saddle just tenses up & hops). This stops when in regular work, is also fine if lunged before getting on. Learns things fast, just gets on with what is asked however he is still young & green. Has popped over a few small jumps at home & at outings up to 65cm, I believe he has potential in this area but is still green to jumping. Has been lunged up to approx 1m. No known health issues, only had vet out to do his teeth & was good for this. Can be shy around new people so can be a pain to catch is fine once he knows you & gets a carrot. NOT a 1st/2nd pony. Very easy pony to have around respects tape & lives off of the smell of grass. Hard work has been done, just needs time put into him! Would love to keep Cappi for another season, I think he will be an awesome all round pony, SJer or would be happy back out on a station as a farm hack, however am now too big on him and don’t have the time he deserves. Hard sale, will only go to a approved home.
