Jimmy 6yo 16.1hh Athletic TB Gelding by Battlepaint.
Jimmy has been in the family since he was a yearling, raced and was then retired in June last year. Although we would love to keep him to produce, we don't have the time and he is ready to be doing more than he is currently.
He has been given time to let down, and had blocks of work, getting all the basics established.
Starting to swing along on the flat, basics are all there. He is not straight, swings out a little with his right fore so not suitable for showing. However he has lovely paces, a swinging trot and a uphill canter that feels like it was made to be out on a XC course.
Jimmy tries hard with his jumping, he's brave and never says no, doesn't get silly or flustered if he gets it wrong, and really learns from his mistakes. He however has been seen to add the odd wee 'celebration' if he thinks he's nailed it.
He most definitely has no dirt, can get a bit excitable/sassy, but its very short lived and generally laughable. I feel 100% safe on him and I would say is easier than any of my own horses.
Easy to handle, not busy on the ground, can call out if in/tied up alone (think quiet squeak not rattle your ear drums neigh). Good to wash, float, for farrier, catch, tack up etc.
Has had an outing to local XC course, where he stood tied to float with company, and then jumped everything he was pointed at including logs, ditches and in the water jump.
We would love to see him out eventing, or showjumping as we feel he could really excel here.
He is a great young horse, with a good brain, and plenty of ability.
He is wasted here as I have 3 of my own competition horses, a growing business and a lack of spare time. So if you can offer a great home, then get in touch as price is definitely negotiable if it gets him out being enjoyed.
