Snips 10yo 16.2hh Chunky TB Gelding by Pins.

I have owned Snips since he retired from racing in 2018. He was produced and lightly competed to 1m SJ/SH and 80cm Eventing.

He then headed off to be a first hack for clients. They hacked him on the farm, took him out to lessons, camps, some low level shows (including riders first ever show, ESNZ Waimate, placed 1st/2nd in her show hunter rounds).

Advertised to sell in summer but then lent to a student while her horse was out injured and she competed him lightly this summer, went to the beach, XC schooling, and lessons.

His basic flatwork is established, he's got a great trot and can do some beautiful work when asked. He is also more than happy cruising around the arena on a long rein, and I have had a handful of intermediate students on him for lessons too under supervision.

He's bold and brave to jump, doesn't say no, and enjoys it. Great over XC fences, and always seems to do well in the SH ring.

Great to hack, been out in big and small groups. He can get jig joggy/on his toes if taken out alone, so is much more enjoyable and happy to cruise along on the buckle in company.

Can be a bit anxious in a warm up area at first when out competing, nothing dirty and settles once warmed up and will stand beside the ring asleep. Both teenager riders have coped with no issues.

Good to handle, catch, float, shoe etc. He's a big horse, and has great manners if enforced, but can be a bit pushy if allowed to get to that point, again handled by teenagers with no major issues.

He's not a beginners horse, likes the company of other horses, but is safe and sane with the odd wee cheeky moment. He is currently in light work, so not a fit and strong as he could be.

He is wasted here as I have 3 of my own competition horses, so if you can offer a great home, then get in touch as price is definitely negotiable if it gets him out being enjoyed again.
