Westfield Fern

Westfield Fern DOB: 9th October 2016 (rising 6) Height: 142cm approx Sire: John Brodie (Gypsy Cob) Dam: Stoneyriver Henrietta (Welsh X) Registered with NZGCA and ESNZ, eligible for the NZ Pinto and NZ Golden Horse Association as well.

Fern is a beautiful young pony with the ability to excel in any discipline. She has impeccable manners and is very easy to have around.

At South Island Gypsy Cob Show, she came away with Reserve Champion Partbred in both the Inhand and Ridden sections with multiple red ribbons throughout the day. We took her to the South Island Dressage Champs for her first dressage competition having never been in a white pipe arena and came away HOY qualifying scores in all her tests and held her own against the hacks.

She has also now had three eventing starts at 65cm and been double clear at all to finish 1st, 2nd and 3rd in them. Most recently she won the 65cm class at the South Island ODE Championships out of 28 people. She also took part in the Young Event Pony/Small Horse Championship where she made the step up to 80cm flying around the XC/SJ course with ease to finish 4th.  Fern has a lovely jump technique and rhythm and is incredibly bold and brave. She doesn’t spook at new jumps or filler and is confident to jump off any stride.

She has been out hacking to the river multiple times and has also been hacking around the roads once and was fantastic. She is the same alone or in company and happy to be in front or behind. Fern would make a brilliant trekking/hacking pony as she has an amazing walk on her.

Fern has been an absolute delight to produce and it is now time for her to find her own person to love. She has all the makings of a top kids/small adults pony.

Absolutely no beginners or time wasters, Fern will only be sold to the best of homes where she will continue on her way to becoming that one in a million pony.
