Pegasus Adult Riding Club Inc.
The Pegasus Adult Riding Club is an incorporated society that was formed in July 1982 by fifteen founding members who saw the need for an adult alternative to a pony club. We welcome Canterbury riders 17 and over to join our social and supportive club - we cater for any and all levels of experience and disciplines with a vast variety of activities and offerings throughout the year.
The Committee organizes and runs monthly rallies which the club subsidise, these are held on a mix of Saturdays or Sundays. We enjoy a very wide range of activities and lessons, some of our favourites include: mounted and unmounted social days, dressage, jumping, cowboy challenge, ground work and horsemanship skills, hoofball, working equitation, games, barn/new facility visits, camping and trekking.
We have a wide range of members spread throughout the greater Canterbury region. We have no grounds of our own but use various pony clubs, facilities and private properties and moving around to cater for our members, this keeps it interesting for the horses as well as their humans.
We also host several competitions, events and social functions each year which give our members a chance to compete, socialise and generate funds to support the club and keep annual subs affordable to all.
We would love you to join us, you don’t have to be experienced, you don’t even have to have a horse. But, if you would like to have loads of fun, learn more about horses, improve your riding and meet other like-minded people then please contact us!
