This is not an easy decision but I feel Rory is wasted with me and deserves a life where he is number one and out enjoying life. I bought Rory 18months ago as a hunter / show hunter but I feel he is too much horse for me in those environments, he doesn’t do anything wrong, in fact he’s an incredible ride but I’m more comfortable on my smaller horse. Rory is great to hack out alone or in company, he floats well, loves the beach and forest, is a gentleman for the farrier and to clip, worm etc. Paddocks well alone or in company. Over the past 18 months we have hunted (gated), had dressage and jumping lessons, competed in show hunter, flat shown, trekked, hacked out and he’s been fantastic with it all. He is also registered with the NZ Irish Draught Horse Society and The NZ Warmblood Association. Rory does have slight changes in him hocks and fetlocks but nothing uncommon for a horse of his size and age. I have his X-rays for any serious buyers to view if requested. The vets were not concerned at all but I personally have him on pentosan by choice as I do any competitive horse over the age of 8. He also has had a couple of seasonal asthma issues, both with his previous owner and with me. This is easily managed with replacing his normal hay with either soaked hay or baleage and an airways supplement. Price reflects these wee blips on his otherwise clean resume. Rory is clipped and in light work and ready to go on with. He will also come with his full wardrobe of this seasons rugs. He is up to date with worming, ulcer treatment, farrier, (fronts only currently), dental and bodywork. My perfect home for Rory would be someone who wants to get out and enjoy him for all of his wonderfulness. Being that he is such a big boy he will only go to someone capable and experienced with large horses.

WPH Louis 16.3hh rising 7yo gelding. Awatea Splashback/Voltaire II/Aberlou Louis is a quality young horse with three swinging, expressive paces. He is light and easy in the bridle, good off the leg, and gives a great feel. He is well put together and would not look out of place out in the show ring either. Louis was broken in by myself as a 3.5 year old and since then his owner has done a super job of further producing him. He hacks out (alone or in company), been to small outings such as pole clinics and lessons, and has seen enough of the world that he is ready to see the competition arena with his next rider. Good to handle, and has a fun personality - life is never boring with Louis in the paddock! He is the class clown, with absolutely no dirt. If you are looking for perfect x rays, Louis is not for you. He was x rayed with mild kissing spine in 2024, but given the green light to carry on with his career. Because of this Louis requires someone knowledgeable, to keep on top of his saddle fit, bodywork, and general maintenance. However - this should be the standard with any horse! Fahrenheit HD (Felix) Rising 4yo black Hanoverian gelding, currently 16.2hh. Microchipped, DNA verified, and a registered NZ Hanoverian. Formidable (Fidertanz/De Niro)/First Lady HD (Let’s Kiss N Tell/Grand Passion). Felix has been professionally started under saddle, and is showing he has super natural rhythm, swing, and expression in all three paces. He is correctly put together, with clean, straight limbs. Good to handle in every way, he is a real class clown with plenty of character 🤡 Has not shown any dirt in his short time under saddle. However he does still at times need his hand held, can be a little looky and noise reactive. However he is proving to be very trainable and is progressing quickly - he loves to please and tries his best! Felix would be a top prospect for an ambitious rider wanting a talented young horse showing all the right mechanics for the upper levels - as his breeding would suggest. Has great temperment, good to handle, float, trucks etc. Has been to one competition where he was good to get ready, yarded and handled A&P atmosphere well. I got him to be my HOY quality saddle hunter but have decided to seriously downsize and have a life outside horses. Retired sound, spelled and started under saddle with no fuss. Louie is green but very kind and has a fantastic work ethic. Has walk and trot established, canters very well on the lunge, moves nicely off the leg etc. Hacks out on his own. Has alot of natural ability and is very athletic in type. Good ground manners, good to drench & for the farrier (shod infront) BUT Louie is not much of a people person, he can be difficult to catch unless he knows you (never takes more than 5mins) - he has been great with me but it took a few weeks to establish that. His new home must be kind and competent to continue working on this with him. Will excel in the show ring.

On the ground, Kaiya is easy to have around. She floats exceptionally well, is straightforward to handle, and has been a pleasure to bring along. She is currently barefoot and comfortable across varied terrain. Kaiya would be best suited to a calm, capable rider who enjoys getting out and covering ground rather than focusing solely on arena work. She is still a young horse with plenty left to learn and experience, so she is not suited to a novice rider. However, for someone who appreciates sensible young horses and enjoys continuing their education, she offers an exciting opportunity. The word that best describes Kaiya is sensible. She is still developing confidence and experience, as every young horse should be, but she consistently approaches new situations with a willing attitude and a good brain.
