Sensible, willing, and quietly gaining confidence with every ride, Kaiya is a quality young mare with a bright future ahead of her.
Standing approximately 16.2hh, Kaiya is a rising 5-year-old Clydesdale x Standardbred mare who has been given the time and foundation we believe young horses deserve. She combines size, substance, and athleticism with a sensible outlook on life, making her an exciting prospect for someone wanting a quality horse to continue developing.
Kaiya's education has focused on real-world experiences rather than endless arena circles. She has been enjoying rides through the forest, crossing rivers, exploring varied terrain, and heading out to the beach. While she is still building confidence around the waves and has yet to venture into the surf, she is curious and willing, and we expect this confidence will continue to grow with exposure.
Under saddle, Kaiya offers a comfortable walk, a lovely floaty trot, and a straightforward canter. She can be sensitive at times, but over the past month she has benefited from being ridden by a variety of capable riders, which has helped build her confidence and trust in different people. She is proving increasingly adaptable and is developing into a horse that thinks through new situations rather than overreacting to them.
One area that has surprised us is her interest in jumping. Kaiya has happily popped over the occasional log while out riding, and we plan to continue introducing her to small jumps and obstacles over the coming months to see where her natural ability takes her.
On the ground, Kaiya is easy to have around. She floats exceptionally well, is straightforward to handle, and has been a pleasure to bring along. She is currently barefoot and comfortable across varied terrain.
Kaiya would be best suited to a calm, capable rider who enjoys getting out and covering ground rather than focusing solely on arena work. She is still a young horse with plenty left to learn and experience, so she is not suited to a novice rider. However, for someone who appreciates sensible young horses and enjoys continuing their education, she offers an exciting opportunity.
The word that best describes Kaiya is sensible. She is still developing confidence and experience, as every young horse should be, but she consistently approaches new situations with a willing attitude and a good brain.
