Jack, 15.1 & 1/2hh standardbred gelding. Stout well built fella. Strong legs, solid body.
Friendly to catch, excellent doer. No vices while being tacked up. None under saddle either.
More woah than go under saddle. Can canter, has a wonderful transition but does take some leg to keep him cantering! Does jump small jumps kindly with out any dramas although he isn’t the most talented fella and isn’t a hot or fast type….
Very happy to hack out of the arena, goes on a long rein the whole time. Super polder when following, drop the reins and he’ll do the work. Happy to lead too, not spooky. We think a trekking horse will be right up his alley! Doesn’t kick others, docile friendly gelding guy, just wants to be friends with everyone.
Did sustain a small tear in his tendon or ligament (I can not remember which) He had a touch of swelling, no heat & was never lame. The vets recommended he have 3 months off and he can return to racing. He has had 6 months off, rescanned good to go, however his trainer has opted not to race him further, due to retirement from the industry (trainer.) and wanted to see his favourite horse retire with him.
We are assured this will cause him NO issues moving forward. Jack is sound as a bell.
Jack is a wonderful horse, ready to go and have an absolute blast with a new owner.
Flicker has an amazing temperament and manners, he is an easy stallion, stays behind normal fences and break fences, suitable for an experienced horse home as a 1st stallion.
He moves very well, is great conformationally and is very intelligent. He is great to handle, travel, loves being pampered. He is inquisitive and brave.
He is AI trained; hand serves or runs with mares. He has foals on the ground, and I have 2 due in spring.
He would also be a fantastic kids pony if gelded.
For sale as not wanting to breed much anymore, and we have extensive flood damage and have lost feed (hay, grass) and paddocks.
11yo, 15hh SB mare Bow. Rosinupthebow is her race name.
I have having trouble uploading photos. Loads available on Ardlussa Equine
Bow, a great mum to two foals is now ready to get onto her third career. Retired sound.
She had 57 starts, 2 wins, 6 seconds, 5 thirds & two filly foals.
Bow came to us to be started under saddle and she was very much “broke to ride” no questions asked - turned out she was already broke to ride in her race career! The extent I’m not sure but definitely not as “green” as some of our others.
She’s great to mount, trots and has an exceptional canter! Very balanced and will keep it for laps and laps. Very rarely paces unless coming back from canter. Great bareback, jumps over small jumps well. LOVES getting out hacking, on the buckle. Was a touch quicker when we turned back around to come home but wasn’t anything hard to manage and then went back to a long rein very quickly.
Hasn’t really spooked at anything in her time here. Not a more “woah than go” type in the arena; loves having a job to do, can take a few half halts to get the speed you want, in the same breath once you’ve got your speed you can drop your reins and she will cruise!!!
This horse will suit anything! I could honestly see her being a fun we farm hack low level mount for a farm teen to zoom around on. Working EQ, trekking, loves to work could do endurance or cavalcade ETC. She is a boss in the paddock, may be a red ribbon at events.
Does have a couple of quirks, can be a brat to catch at times, can be a touch girthy, doesn’t like hard/plastic brushes (fine with soft brushes), does have some seedy toe but regular trims should bring her right & when she first arrived had a cheeky habit of dragging handler to grass etc like a 12hh pony! This has settled but would need to go to a confident handler so it doesn’t come back.
We will continue to do more with her, price will increase the more she does
Introducing on behalf -
DSE Magic Moves a.k.a Reef.
Bay TB Gelding
12yo
15.3hh
Purchased by us in May 2023 via Donna Smith and Elsie Edwards, with a clear vet check.
He has evented to 105cm, twice at 95cm at Springston Trophy. He produces beautiful dressage tests and tries very hard for his rider. He needs a confident rider to reassure him in the show jumping. His XC is great with his careful nature and with a confident rider he will excel in eventing but equally a perfect all rounder that has a rider wanting to do a bit of everything.
Reef has a beautiful nature and comes up to anyone in the paddock for feed and cuddles. He has great feet for a TB with no corrective shoeing needed and easy to keep weight on.
Looking for a new postcode due to his current rider being at uni this year. He is an awesome horse who should be out competing and developing a relationship with a kind and confident rider. He has everything to take his new rider up the levels in their chosen discipline.

Looking for a new postcode - Duke (The Gentle Giant)
17hh | 2010 | Dark Bay Gelding by Duelled | Low Mileage |
Meet Duke – your next dependable best mate with a great sense of humour and a heart of gold. This handsome 17hh dark bay gelding has done a bit of everything – beach rides, roads, schooling, lessons, eventing – you name it, he's been there, done that (and looked good doing it 😎).
He’s beautifully schooled, confidently jumping 1.10m at home and eventing up to 95cm with scope to go higher. But here's the deal: Duke is over the hustle and bustle of busy shows. The chaotic atmosphere just isn't his jam anymore. He’s telling me he’s ready for a quieter lifestyle – think forest hacks, beach adventures, low-pressure outings, and maybe the odd chill comp if it's not too hectic.
✅ Excellent to shoe, float, clip, catch
✅ Safe and sane on the roads & beach
✅ Happy to ride out alone or in company
✅ Low mileage for his age – he's got plenty left in the tank!
Duke would suit a confident rider who wants a quality horse for fun, schooling, and laid-back outings rather than the fast lane. He is not suitable for beginners or nervous riders as can still be a typical OTTB.
💌 PM for more info – Duke's ready to be someone’s steady, lovable partner in crime.
Chanel
4yo mare by Cartier GNZ (Cartell GNZ x Lansing x Corlando) out of Suzie Blue (Quorum)
EMH 16.1hh
Chanel is a quality type with correct conformation and lovely paces.
A paddock accident as a yearling has left her with nerve damage in her upper neck. Because of this she has a slight head tilt and stiffness on the right bend.
She is fully sound and there is no reason she couldn’t have a ridden career but we feel she is best suited as a broodmare.
Kingslea Pure Coach
6yo 16.3hh warmblood mare
By Carter GNZ out of Bolero AF (Littorio x Corlando)
Carla is a seriously talented mare with a huge amount of scope! She was broken in at 4 and been in sporadic work until this year to allow her to mature.
She is a lovely easy going mare to have around and has the most lovely nature.
She is well schooled on the flat and works in a frame in all paces. Bend is established and is currently working on strengthening her canter.
She has a huge amount of scope and is a careful jumper but is also super brave and never says no. Not phased by fillers and not at all spooky. She has never shown any dirt and is easy to get on after time off.
She has been out to two competitions and many different arenas and has never been phased by anything.
Easy to do everything with, a low fuss mare who is not at all mareish.
Carla is a serious prospect for someone with serious aspirations
I have no doubt she will go all the way in show jumping

Pure Flirt
7yo 16.2hh Warmblood x TB mare
By Cartell GNZ out of Suzie Blue (Quorum)
Flirt is a stunning mare with an equally stunning nature. She is a relatively late starter to sport as she was broken in at 4 and then used as a broodmare until last season. Since being back under saddle she has been a model student and has never shown any dirt.
She is schooling well on the flat, works in a frame in all paces, with bend established and is well balanced.
She has taken to jumping super well and has shown some great scope! She loves jumping and never says no. Not fussed with fillers and is great mix of both careful and brave. She keeps ls a lovely rhythm and never rushes. Currently schooling to 90cm with a tonne of scope to spare. She has been out to two competitions and many different arenas where she has behaved impeccably.
She a straightforward and flashy mare that gets admired wherever she goes. I can see her excelling at show hunter, show jumping or eventing.
Very easy to do everything with and is not at all mareish

DJ, race name Sweet DJ. 4yo SB mare by sweet lou.
Dj loves being fussed over, great to catch, not girthy well trained with her feet. Currently shod but excellent shape to her hooves, don’t see why she couldn’t go barefoot.
We have recently taken DJ to retrain as a riding horse, she has taken to being ridden very well. Happy to walk around trots very well, can cruise around on a long rein without gaining speed & can canter both leads however it is not very strong.
DJ loves getting out for a walk/hack. Isn’t spooky, ears forward very happy to be getting out for a look! We believe this is her happy place, and that’s where we’d like to see her go, a happy hacking horse or low level working equitation type.
Has been off property for a wander down to the river, she was happy in the water, hesitant about down banks at first but worked it out well and then was happy to conquer anything after that. She is a smart wee thing.
DJ if left alone while tied is quite busy and can paw the ground dance around etc. (Not while you’re handling her very cuddly!)
She is excellent to float, but is more familiar with angle load so can try to turn coming off but this is no issue, just need to keep her straight when coming off down the ramp.
Unfortunately DJ can show a touch of lameness while trotting around a turn, it is very ‘low grade’ (0.5/5) however because of this we do not want to push her much with loads of circle work or jumping.
She does warm up after some trot. Have a look on ardlussa equine Facebook page to see videos of her going.
Time, away from the racing industry may also bring her right, equally looking into options such as 4cyte or pentosan could be well worth it.
Her pryce reflects the touch of unsoundness on a circle. If it wasn’t for that, she would be pryced alot higher. DJ is a sweet horse and worth the time.
DJ is green broke, not suitable for anyone nervous or kids etc. DJ would also be a great paddock mate.
